Here’s the mail; it never fails

Tim Stump, an United States Postal Service worker of 10 years, makes his rounds in Stillwater despite the winter storm warning by National Weather Service on Thursday.

The Tulsa World asked me to grab some weather features on Thursday when the winter storm was supposed to hit and hit hard.

It didn’t hit until late and it was hardly hard.

That didn’t stop me from dragging Nathan around to find something to shoot.

The freezing rain didn’t show up as well as big, white flakes would have, which is a real bummer. Especially because freezing rain is much more painful when it hits your face.

It felt worse and looked less interesting.

Oh well. Mr. Stump was a great guy and it was fun hanging out with him as he delivered the mail – the thing my friend Asher says the government does best.
