Go, Jerry, go!

Faulkner trackJerry Faulkner of Edmond is training to run the marathon in the Olympics.

My good friend, Paul Goodman, at the Sun asked me to shoot the images for the cover story for this month’s Edmond Health magazine. I’ve never had anything printed in a magazine, so yeah, I was excited.

It would be an understatement to say that Paul has deep roots in illustration and design.

He was the Creative Director at ChiatDay before opening his own ad firm. He eventually left that behind when his wife was offered a job out of state and he had reached a point where he felt he could leave it behind. He’s accomplished more in his lifetime that many people put together. He’s served our nation as a Marine, been part of a professional cycling team, protected the city of LA as an officer of the LAPD and raised an awesome daughter, among other things.

The guy has been successful to say the least.

For some reason, he has taken me under his wing and has been a great help and encouragement while I’ve been at the Sun. He’s a great friend and it’s easy to see he puts others, especially his family, before himself.

If you’re wondering about the guy in the photo, that’s Jerry. He’s a great guy, but you’ll have to find that out later on when it’s closer to the run time of the article. I’ll have another post that’s actually about him and a better photo to go along with it.

G’night, all.

    Zach-
I’ve had the privilege of working with many outstanding photographers over the years. You without a doubt, have more natural talent and skill than anyone I have ever met. Zach, you are an incredible photojournalist.
Thank you for the kind words and I am proud to call you my friend.
    Happy Birthday!!
    Paul
