Chip Palmer of Stillwater adjusts his son Jackon’s hood as they walk home from the grocery store on Friday.

Day two of the snow storm.

Day two of searching for weather features.

My friend Kate Caudill told me a group of her friends were walking a few blocks to a local grocery store. Brilliant!

People have to eat. And while most of Stillwater had already stripped both Walmarts bare of essential foods, I knew there would still be those last-minute shoppers who would have to endure the storm.

That’s when I found the Palmers. They were very kind to me, letting me follow them as they walked home with their goods.
