Broncho on fire

4th fireworksA group of onlookers watch the 4th of July fireworks show from Broncho Lake outside of the Nigh University Center.

Well, I blew it. I headed to the fireworks show on the campus of UCO and passes big groups of people in lawn chairs in parking lots. There were kids sitting on the roofs of cars. All kinds of green and orange light from lamp posts.

It was perfect.

I kept walking. Idiot…

I went to Broncho Lake to get that same tired shot everyone else wants of big bursts over a lake with good reflections. Boring.

I got a few decent shots of people. This one wasn’t one of my favorites, but it has garnered the most comments of my 4th shots on my flickr so far.

It wasn’t all a loss, though. After soaking about 70 percent of my t-shirt in sweat, I walked a mile in the wrong direction after the show. Then tried to use my phones GPS to find my car. Nope. Well, at least I didn’t have to deal with the insane traffic by the time I found my car. Always a silver lining, right?
